BYSHC Sketch #52 ~ Rainbow Trees

Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I’m sharing my second card for BYSHC Sketch #52 Challenge. Our sponsor for the month is the wonderful Gina K Designs. A random winner will be chosen in January to win a $25 gift card to Gina K Designs.

For this simple card, I embossed a 3-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ white cardstock with Gina K Designs Tapestry Embossing Folder and a 4-1/8″ x 2-1/8″ white cardstock with GKD Swiss Dot Embossing Folder. I put a ribbon across my tapestry white cardstock and taped it down on the back. I glued the tapestry piece on to a mini slimline card.

I stamped rainbow colored trees from GKD Stamptember Stay Cozy set and die cut them out. I glued it across the Swiss dot white cardstock along with the sentiment from the same set. The sentiment was heat embossed with WOW Metallic Silver embossing powder to pull in that silver from the ribbon. I put some foam tape on the back of the Swiss dot piece and attached it over the ribbon. A simple card completed.

Here’s the sketch.

BYSHC Sketch #52 ~Night Sky

Crafty friends, it’s December! Christmas is in a couple of days! Come build up your stash of holiday cards with BYSHC’s sketch challenge #52. Our sponsor for the month is the wonderful Gina K Designs. A random winner will be chosen in January to win a $25 gift card to Gina K Designs.

For my first card, I got a piece of white cardstock and cut it to 6-1/2″ x 7″. I scored and folded the card at 3-1/2″ to get my mini slimline card. I cut another 3-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ white cardstock and ink blended my winter scene. I used GKD Master Layouts 16 to die cut a mask for some hills. I used the leftover ink from my brush to ink blend my hills. For my night sky, I used GKD In the Navy, Blue Denim, Tranquil Teal, and Turquoise Sea to ink blend from top to bottom.

I used a ruler and measured 4″ x 2″ from the middle of my scene. I cut it out and added some trees, deers, and sentiment from Gina K Designs Stamptember Stay Cozy stamp set. I glued it to a black 4-1/8″ x 2-1/8″ mat.

I foiled GKD’s Blanket of Snow Poly-Glaze sheet with Thermoweb’s Deco foil Lapris Watercolor Transfer Sheets. The foil is a mix of blue and silver color. Super pretty. Here’s a closer look at the foil.

I cut off a 1″ x 5-1/2″ piece of my poly-glaze sheet. My piece isn’t long enough to fit across my mini slimline, so I cut it in half and glued it on both sides. I covered the middle with the winter scene I cut out earlier. Lastly, I stamped and die cut a deer and foam taped it down.
