A Sweet Challenge

Today I played with Lawn Fawn’s Tiny Gingerbread Stamp Set for their Sketch Challenge#95. I decided to combine this card with Craftyhazelnut’s Christmas Challenge #530 and Craftyhazelnut’s Patterned Paper February Challenge.

I started with watercoloring the adorable gingerbread and fussy cutting them out. Next, I diecut out three circles from the Foil Print Chiyogami Paper Star that I found from Daiso, and attached acetate behind it. I added foam tape around the circles, added the Recollections star embellishments, and attached paper from Recollections Glisten & Glow Paper Pad. I attached the whole thing to a white card base. My mistake was trying to stamp the sentiment on afterwards. The sentiment is from one of Recollections Christmas stamps. Due to the foam tape not being even all over, it was hard to get a even press with the stamp. I ended up using a sharpie to fix my mistakes.

Lesson learned – Always finish the front of my card prior to adding the foam tape and embellishments.

Flower Power

Today I’m playing along with Color Hues and The Flower Challenge for the first card. The newest challenge for Color Hues is using the colors Peach and Green, which by the way I’m in love with. It worked perfect for this new stamp I got from Picket Fence Studio. The Flower Challenge was to use your latest stamps or dies.

I started inking the stamp with Gina K Designs Peach Bellini and Lucky Clover Ink, and then I spritzed the stamp with water. I was trying to give it a watercolored look. Once the paper was dried, I ink blended in the flower to “color” it in. I used Gina K Designs Hearty Greetings for the sentiment, and stamped it with the Peach Bellini Ink. I diecut the card stock with My Favorite Things Wonky Stitch Dies. To make a mat for my card, I ink blended the edges of a white cardstock with the GKD Peach Bellini and die cut it with Pink & Main Stitched Rectangles Dies. I loved how this turned out, so I made a second card with purple.

I did pretty much the same thing with this card, except I used Gina K Designs Lovely Lavender, Wild Wisteria, and Lucky Clover and I turned the stamp. The sentiment was also from GKD’s Hearty Greetings.

I decided to play with the peach and green color combo for Less is More. The challenge is a one layer card with flowers.

I ink blended a section from GKD Peach Bellini to GKD Lucky Clover. Then I stamped the flowers from Picket Fence Studio Forget to Say Thank You Stamp Set and the sentiment from PFS Lily Bouquet Stamp Set with GKD Amalgam Ink. That was it! A quick card.

A closer look at the sentiment.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great rest of the week!

Heroes

This card was created for Make My Monday #142 Emergency Services Challenge. I combined it with the AAA #184 Sketch Challenge, to the right.

This adorable digital stamp is from Clearly Besotted, and it’s completely free if you want to check it out. I attached it to a card base I embossed, and it was done. Simple.

I believe that the heroes are everyone who had to go into work everyday and risk exposure during the pandemic. I feel like sometimes people forget about the ones that still have to go into work like cashiers, cooks, waiter/waitresses, bank tellers, lab technicians, etc. to make it as normal as possible for everyone. Be considerate and mask up for them, even if you don’t believe in it. They will feel safer.

Thank you for stopping by and stay safe!

Sketch Challenge Frenzy

I made this card for Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers’ Sketch Challenge #7. I’m loving this sketch so much that I decided to make another one. I decided to use this digital stamp from Limited Runs that I haven’t had a chance to color up yet. I like how the card is full of icicles but the sentiment is about being cozy or warm. 😉

Happy Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I made 3 Valentine’s Day cards because I printed a bunch of digital stamp onto one cardstock. For my first card, I used Gerda Steiner Design Valentines Bear Digital Stamp and watercolored it. The fun fold card was inspired by Ink it Up with Jessica, and it was super easy to make. Lastly, I attached the bear with foam squares.

Black card base: 4-1/4” x 11” scored at 5-1/2” then cut off 2-3/4” of front.
Red Embossed Paper: 2-1/2″ x 4″
Pink Rose paper: 2-1/2″ x 4″
Whisper White: 4″ x 5-1/4″

For my second card, everything was the same as the first card, except for the digital stamp. The digital stamp I used was Bugaboo Stamps Valentine Jar Digital Stamp.

For my last card, I use colored pencil to color in the Bugaboo Valentine Jar Digital Stamp. I printed out the sentiment, and I used Gina K Designs Kraft Ink to lightly blend the edges of the white cardstock.

Happy Lunar New Year!

To celebrate the new Lunar new year, I made some red envelopes for fun. It’s the year of the Ox, so all my red envelopes had an ox.

First, I used the Cricut Explorer to cut out the red envelopes. Then, I stamped the images with Gina K Designs Embossing Ink and heat embossed with Gold powder. I used Clearly Besotted Year of You and Gina K Designs Holiday Tapestry to make these red envelopes.

A closer view of the red envelopes.

The one with Gina K Designs Holiday Tapestry Stamp is below. I think if I want to remake this, I should make it on a longer red envelope, so I can see more of the design.

I really liked how these turned out, so I think I might be making more next year. They were easy and fun to make. I think I liked the first one the most. What about you?

Wishing you great happiness, prosperity, and health during Ox Year!

Breath of Fresh Air

Since there’s been so many Valentine’s card, I decided to switch it up and make a Christmas card. It was inspired by BYSCH #7 Sketch Challenge. I liked how I got to combine 2 scrap pieces to make this card.

  • Supplies:
    • Stamp:
      • Recollections Christmas Clear Stamps
      • Clearly Besotted Brushed Sentiments
      • My Favorite Things Brush Spatter Background
    • Paper Pad: Recollections Winter Dream 6 in. by 6 in.

Love

I just had to use this cat from Unity Stamp Love Kitties Stamp Set for another Valentine’s card. I was able to combine this cute kitty with a stencil I made with Cricut a while back. I used Gina K Designs Dusty Rose on top and ended with GKD Red Velvet to ink blend with the stencil. I printed and cut the sentiment from Cricut. Then, I glued it to a white cardstock and cut around the sentiment to make my own shadow die cut.

Love Kitty

I finally got the chance to use this adorable kitten from Unity Stamp Love Kitties Stamp Set created by Graciellie Design. Isn’t he just adorable? I’m more of a dog person, but the stamp set was too adorable to pass. She also came out with a puppy one not to long ago too.

Keeping reality away

A book a day keeps reality away. I don’t have time to finish reading a book a day, but I do try to read a little every day. What do you do to keep you sane throughout the pandemic?

This card was made with Time Out challenge and All Sorts Challenge in mind. I used the free Pawsome Pets digital stamp from Time For Tea Designs and colored them with colored pencil. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted Wise Owl Stamp Set.
