BYSHC #18 ~ Santa Paws

Hello crafty friends! I’m back with my second card for BYSHC #18 Sketch. Join us on BYSHC Facebook for a chance to win some crafting goodies.

I started by stamping the puppy and masking it, so I can stamp the tree. Next, I made a mask for the tree and “colored” the tree by ink blending. I can never color a tree the way I want it to look, so I decided to ink blend it 😜

I colored the puppy with Copic markers and fussy cut out the image. Next, I die cut out a flag and heat embossed the sentiment. Lastly, I glued everything down and added foam squares behind my image.

  • Supplies:
    • Stamp: MFT Happy Pawlidays
    • Die: GKD Master Layout 5
    • Paper: Recollections Christmas Pets, Spellbinders Christmas Traditions, GKD Masking Paper

I hope you can join us over at BYSHC Facebook. Check BYSHC Blog for more inspirations.

Night Skies

Happy Monday friends! I’ve been seeing a lot of beautiful cards with ink blended skies and silhouettes, so I was inspired to make one myself. I decided to do a night sky with beautiful colors. I was going for auroras, but ended up with something a little different. I love how it turned out though.

I started with ink blending the colors I wanted and layered the ink on heavy. When I was satisfied with the colors and ink, I spritzed some water onto the water reactive inks. Next, I added some Artistic Isle Titanium White Paint for some stars and snow. Since I don’t have silhouettes, I decided to stamp the trees and color them with GKD’s Black Onyx Dye Ink by stamping the ink onto an acrylic block and using a paint brush to watercolor in the trees. I die cut out the cardstock, heat embossed the sentiment, and added a black mat.

  • Supplies:
    • Stamp: Gina K Designs Winter Whimsy
    • Die: Pink & Main Rectangles Set 1
    • Ink: Gina K Designs Black Onyx, In the Navy, Blue Raspberry, Lucky Clover, Passionate Pink, Wild Lilac, Plum Punch, Embossing Ink
    • Others: Altenew Pure White Embossing Powder

I hope you like the card! Have a wonderful crafty week and thank you for dropping by.

Oh, Joy! Layering Stencils

Hello friends! I’m sharing a mini slimline card I created by layering stencils to make a scene. I’ve been enjoying ink blending with stencils recently and was challenged by Share Handmade Kindness’ January Challenge of layering stencils.

I started with the Stamplorations Beyond the Tree stencil on the bottom and the Waffle Flower Sunburst stencil on top and ink blended. I used copic markers to color the images from The Greeting Farm and fussy cut them out. I die cut out the black mat and the ink blended background with GKD Master Layout 7 dies. I also cut out a small hill and die cut the bottom with the same die so the stitched marks would match the background stitched marks. Lastly, I chose a sentiment that wasn’t as Christmas-y, so the card could be used for other occasions. It’s one way to extend your Christmas stamps.

  • Supplies
    • Stamp: The Greeting Farm Merry & Bright
    • Die: Gina K Designs Master Layout 7
    • Stencil: STAMPlorations Beyond the Trees Stencil, Waffle Flower Sunburst Stencil
    • Ink: Gina K Designs Sweet Corn, Peach Bellini, Dusty Rose, Wild Wisteria, Blue Denim, In the Navy, Obsidian Amalgam Ink

Thank you for stopping by and hopefully you get challenged to create something too. Happy crafting.

Bursts of Joy

Hi friends! I’m sharing a super simple slimline card today that I made for a Third Grader. I started with coloring the stamped images with Copic marker and die cutting them out with the matching die set. Then I ink blended with rainbow colors using the SSS Fading Tiny Dots stencil. Lastly, I added the sentiment and “stars” from the same stamp set.

I love how the card turned out and how well the stamp and stencil paired together. Hopefully, you like it to. 🙂
