Blue Lily

For Day 6 of The Daily Marker Color Challenge, I decided to color Picket Fence Studio’s Lily Bouquet Stamp. It’s a big image, so after I water colored the image, I cut it in half to make 2 mini slimline cards. I saw some blue heart lily pictures, so I decided to try to color my lilies like that.

I stamped the image with GKD Embossing Ink and added Altenew Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder. I heat embossed the image and water colored the image. After cutting my image in half, I stamped Gina K Designs Sentiments from her July Kit with GKD Amalgam Ink and Blue Raspberry Ink. I attached the cardstock onto a blue mat and attached it to my mini slimline card.

Have an inkcredible weekend!

Daisy Days

Happy Saturday! I’m back with another guest designer card with Just Us Girls and this week is Photo Week. I was inspired by the daisies, and I wanted to use a new stamp that I got from Unity Stamp birthday sale.

I started inking the Unity Stamp Daisy Days’ background stamp with Gina K Designs Amalgam Ink and colored the stigma yellow. I attached a vellum across the image, and attached it to a black cardstock. Next, I added some gold accents to the Happy Birthday sentiment and glued it over the vellum. That’s it for this simple card.

Another angle of the card so you can see the gold a bit more.

I wanted to play with this background some more, so I also made a thank you card.

I inked the background with Inkon3 Fade Out Ink and die cut it out. Next, I inked Picket Fence Studio’s Forgot to Say Thank You Stamp set with Gina K Design’s Prickly Pear Ink and fussy cut it. I ink blended a strip of white cardstock with Prickly Pear Ink and stamped the sentiment with the same ink color. I’m loving this sentiment from Picket Fence Studio’s stamp set.

Flower Power

Today I’m playing along with Color Hues and The Flower Challenge for the first card. The newest challenge for Color Hues is using the colors Peach and Green, which by the way I’m in love with. It worked perfect for this new stamp I got from Picket Fence Studio. The Flower Challenge was to use your latest stamps or dies.

I started inking the stamp with Gina K Designs Peach Bellini and Lucky Clover Ink, and then I spritzed the stamp with water. I was trying to give it a watercolored look. Once the paper was dried, I ink blended in the flower to “color” it in. I used Gina K Designs Hearty Greetings for the sentiment, and stamped it with the Peach Bellini Ink. I diecut the card stock with My Favorite Things Wonky Stitch Dies. To make a mat for my card, I ink blended the edges of a white cardstock with the GKD Peach Bellini and die cut it with Pink & Main Stitched Rectangles Dies. I loved how this turned out, so I made a second card with purple.

I did pretty much the same thing with this card, except I used Gina K Designs Lovely Lavender, Wild Wisteria, and Lucky Clover and I turned the stamp. The sentiment was also from GKD’s Hearty Greetings.

I decided to play with the peach and green color combo for Less is More. The challenge is a one layer card with flowers.

I ink blended a section from GKD Peach Bellini to GKD Lucky Clover. Then I stamped the flowers from Picket Fence Studio Forget to Say Thank You Stamp Set and the sentiment from PFS Lily Bouquet Stamp Set with GKD Amalgam Ink. That was it! A quick card.

A closer look at the sentiment.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great rest of the week!

Fish are Friends

My first card for the new year!! I’m excited to see what the new year will bring.

I created this card for MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #522, and this Friends Forever stamp set from Clearly Besotted is just adorable and perfect for what I wanted to create. It totally reminds me of Finding Nemo; hence, the inspiration for the title Fish are Friends…Not Food.

I started stamping the shark and fish, the shell, and the seaweed to the card base. I masked the images, and started ink blending. I used Gina K Designs Sea Glass, Tranquil Tea, and Blue Denim for the ocean and Sandy Beach for the Sand. I splashed some water onto the blended ink to add some bubbles. I removed the masked images and colored them with Artist’s Loft Watercolor Dual Tips Markers. I stamped some bubbles and added some Ranger Glossy Accents to make it pop up a little and make it more bubble-like. The sea shell, seaweed, and bubble were all from the Tentacuddles Stamp Set from Simon Says Stamp. I used Picket Fence Studio Current of Fish Stencil to stamp in some fish shadows, and added some dots on the sand it make it less flat. Lastly, I used my Cricut to cut a scalloped heart to put around the shark and fish.
